Player Registration

I, the undersigned player, acknowledge, agree and understand that:

Voluntarily and of my own free will, I elect to participate as a member of the softball team, and the league listed above.

I understand that there are certain risks and hazards involved in participating in softball that may result in injury or death to me or other players, including but not limited to, those hazards associated with weather conditions, playing conditions, equipment and other participants.

I understand that the very nature of the game of softball is hazardous and risky, including but not limited to, the acts of pitching, throwing, fielding, catching the ball, swinging the bat, running, jumping, stretching, sliding, diving and collisions with other players and stationary objects; all which can cause injury or death to me and to other players. Further, I the undersigned player, agree that in consideration for the right to play as a member of the team designated above and in consideration for permission to play on the fields arranged for by the team or league:

I voluntarily elect to accept and assume all risks of injury incurred or suffered by me:

1. While practicing or playing as a member of the team so designated.
2. While serving in a non-playing capacity as a team member during practice or play by another team or by other players on my team.
3. While on or upon the premises of any and or all of the fields arranged for by my team or league for practice or play.

I release, discharge and agree not to sue the team and league designated above, the field owner or any other entity designated below; to include the Half Century Plus Softball, Inc., City of Cape Coral, Florida USA/ASA Softball or any of their owners, officers, agents, servants, associations, employees or any person or entity connected with the team, league, field or for any claim, damages, costs or cause of action which I have or may in the future have as a result of injuries or damages incurred by me from whatever cause including but not limited to the negligence, breach of contract or wrongful conduct of the parties hereby released. I hereby authorize the use of any photographs, video picture or any other material related to the event for publicity, promotion or news purposes.

I acknowledge that I assume risk of injury during my participation in activities sponsored by Half Century Plus Softball, Inc. I also agree to hold the league, its officers, or agents harmless of any such injuries, related or associated with the activities of this league. I recognize that the league does not conduct physical conditioning in order to participate in strenuous activities for this league. Play at your own risk.

All players shall only use gloves and bats that are considered legal by ASA/USA rules. Each bat used by players that are not on the approved list MUST have a legible 2000, 2004 or newer ASA/USA certification stamp or it will be considered illegal per ASA/USA rules. All players are to make themselves aware of both league and ASA/USA rules.

All paid applicants will be drafted and assigned to a team. The league draft is for Managers & Board Only.

Teams may carry a maximum of thirteen (13) players. After thirteen (13) players, the roster is frozen; no additional players may be added for the remainder of the season.

1. All players shall abide by all park rules enforced by the city of Cape Coral, including but not limited to, intoxication, profanity, and/or loud and abusive behavior.
2. All players shall adhere to the current rules and regulations prescribed by the Board of Directors.
3. Players, under no circumstances, shall use abusive language towards umpires, opponents, teammates, spectators, or the Board of Directors.
4. All players under no circumstances, shall ever strike, attempt to strike, or throw an object at an umpire, opponent, teammate, spectators, or a member of the Board of Directors.
5. All players shall accept the decisions of the umpires and team managers using good sportsmanship.
6. All players shall always display good sportsmanship. As part of good sportsmanship, players are required to line up and shake hands with the opposing team after each game if able.
7. All players shall avoid bodily contact that may cause injury themselves or others.
8. All players shall support league operations by assisting in any area that requires help.
9. All players shall support and carry out decisions made by the Board of Directors.
10. Players may be suspended up to and including discharge for violating this code of ethics.
